Insights from Birmingham's Top Security Leaders
We're excited to bring you a panel conversation of AWS and cloud security with some of Birmingham's top IT security leaders. This panel will be moderated with all attendees encouraged to submit questions for the panelists to address.
Andrew Alaniz - BBVA
As Director of Technical Architecture at BBVA US, Mr. Alaniz is responsible for a number of cloud-specific areas including: Cloud Governance, Security Architecture, and Cloud Security operations (public, private and hybrid). His teams closely collaborate with DevOps, Security Operations, and IT Engineering groups for their utilization of hybrid and public cloud environments. Andrew’s knowledge of engineering, enterprise architecture, and security are amassed from 14+ years experience with organizations in multiple verticals & at varied scale.
Ivana Cojbasic - Regions
Ivana currently serves as SVP of Information and Enterprise Architecture with Regions Bank, along with driving the Cloud Center of Excellence. Her experience in IT and Information security spans more than 15 years, with a previous tenure at FIS as Deputy CISO. In that capacity, she led an array of vital security-minded groups including: Identity Access Management, Encryption & Key Management, Application Security, Penetration Testing & Vulnerability Management, ISO 27001 certification, Risk & Security PMO, M&A activities and multiple transformational initiatives.
Micah Beavers - UAB
Micah is Manager of Information Security at UAB Medicine. He has 13 years of experience in security engineering, risk management, vendor management, compliance and architecture. Within his current role, he focuses on securing biomedical devices, providing architecture recommendations for cloud and on-prem applications, and GRC. Micah holds a CISSP and MBA from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
Willie is the Director of Identity & Access Management for EBSCO Industries. His career has spanned over 28 years working primarily in Infrastructure and Information Security, including employment with a number of notable Birmingham-based organizations such as Regions, BBVA, Drummond and ProAssurance. In his current role he has helped establish a formal identity management program for the organization and collaborates closely with one of EBSCO’s largest subsidiaries (EBSCO Information Services) to authenticate and authorize users in their AWS environment.
